In my last post, Turkey Vultures Over Provin Mountain – Agawam, MA, I had several shots from atop Provin Mountain. Here are a few more from the same location. No Turkey Vultures this time, just my beautiful Alanna.
As always, click the pictures for the full version! And of course, leave a comment and let me hear what you think!
You might also recall another shot, Sunset From Provin Mountain, that I took in 2009. Same location, but the differences are amazing.

I like the second one the most – great contrast and shadows.

Alanna looks so pensive. Like she is considering something very serious. It’s a good candid shot. And the sunset looks like it is made of liquid gold. I love it!
Hm, I’m starting to wonder what she was considering now, haha. Thanks for the compliment! Clouds can really add some dramatic effects to sunsets!
The sunset image is really a cool one.

I like both of them – they both have great light. The portrait is a different kind of portrait and I think the contrast is good, instead of the usual soft/even light.
Sunsets are often boring since it’s the same and same again, but this one is different in a good way!

Hi Klaus,
Thanks for the compliment! The setting sun offers some nice hard light, so you can get a different type of portrait than most. There are 1000′s of sunset pictures, haha, I like to try and make things somewhat different!
Amazing, no words to say, these pictures says it all. The first shot “Alanna atop provin mountain” is my favorite. It’s looking awesome in macro mode. Thanks for such a great share.
