The other day my friend Nick over at EastZoo Hiphop asked if I could put together a shirt design. We wanted to limit the shirt to one color, as these will be screen printed and we want to keep the budget on the lower side for the time being. That offered a challenge that I’m not that used to. It’s been awhile since I’ve had to worry about color separations, haha! I put together a few different designs, and might do a few more, but my two favorites as of now are below. I’m leaning towards the first one, but I think if I play with the text on the second I might like that one was well. I will have to try to be more creative with the negative space. Can you find the arrow in the speech bubble? Haha. My other concern for the second one, is I think the narrow text might get lost during print.

i love the black t shirt…nice one
Hi Hariharan,
Thanks for the kind words! We’re currently in the process of getting the black t-shirts printed. I’m looking forward to seeing the final product.
Hello Ryan,
I really like the first T-shirt Design. It is very outstanding! Good job.
Hi Sergio,
Thanks for the compliment! I’m looking forward to designing more in the future!
I like the black t-shirt. Nice design!
Hi Ryan,
Did you design both of them? Very nice. My vote will go to the white one because I think the design on the black shirt have a generic feel to it. I have seen similar designs in my logo contests site before.
Hi Chris,
I did design both of them, thank you for the compliment! I’m also glad you chose the white one, haha, not too many people did!
Love the black shirt, really nice design. Similar style to recent work for London Zoo. Well Done
Thanks for the comment! I did a quick Google Search but couldn’t find anything for the London Zoo. Do you know where I could see the work?
Nice post! I do love to collect statement shirts that’s why your post catches my attention. Same with others who posted here I prefer the black t-shirt because its quite comfortable to wear aside from that you can used bright colors for the printing so that the designs will be more visible and will look great. I hope I can have one…. I love the design its very environmental. Great job!
I like the first option. Nice integration of the animal silhouettes in the letter forms. That will make a great 1 color print design.
wow, Ryan
great idea with silhouettes..
I would buy it at the zoo
