Alanna and I recently had the opportunity to visit my sister in Washington, DC. Last week we hopped on Amtrak and took the train down to our nation’s capitol. We had a lot of fun, and of course, I had the chance to shoot some photo’s. This is the first batch that I have had a chance to resize; you can definitely expect some more soon. I also shot about 4 rolls of film with my Lomography SuperSampler that I still need to get developed. You should see some more digital pictures as well as some from the SuperSampler soon. Although a lot of the pictures I took are your classic, cliche tourist shots, I also tried to be a little creative when I could. We missed our Metro Train one night because I just had to get a few shots of the amazing architecture underground at the Metro Center. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for the compliment! The first photo (and many of the others) was shot with a 55-200mm lens at a focal length of about 140mm. I think the beautiful architecture of the building helped me out on that one. I saw the words “Dedicated to Art” and I just had to find the frame for it, haha.
I think my favorite of the bunch is the first of the two train shots. Looks like my travel shots – never a shot with me in it, save a stray reflection here and there. James´s last blog ..Ring of Fire
The train shots were probably some of the most rewarding to shoot. In regards to travel shots in general, I figure people can see my mug almost every day, haha. I’d rather highlight the location and capture whatever the atmosphere may be.
Thank you Justyna! The Metro shots were fun to try, I just wish I had more time! But we missed one of our trains already, so I didn’t want to miss another, Haha!
Thank you for the comment! I found it somewhat difficult to try and be creative with things that have their picture taken thousands of times every day. I’m glad you like them!

wow amazing photos. My favorite one is the first shot. Was it shot by a prime lens? It’s beautiful!
