It’s been awhile since my latest blog post, and I apologize for the delay. We have been in the process of moving though, so we have been busy! Another Amtrak trip across the country, way too many suitcases, and hundreds of pictures to go through.. Here are a couple to get started! I believe they were both taken somewhere in New Mexico. Being the tech-savvy (cough*nerd*cough) guy that I am, I also used an app called EveryTrail on my Droid to keep a GPS record of the trip from Springfield, MA to Los Angeles, CA. I am working on putting together an interactive map with the route and pictures from along the way, which I will have up as soon as possible!
Keep in mind, these pictures were taken from a moving train. There isn’t a whole lot of time for composition, haha. Enough talk, here’s the flicks!

Hey Ry……what a stunning pic of the mountains! awesome!
Love the saturation of colors AND the composition.
Thanks Mom! Hope all is well back on the East!
Hi Ryan
Good to see you are back in the land of the living.
Love the photos… you obviously have the right mix of nerdiness and creativity for a photographer and a blogger.
Looking forward to some great new posts.

Hi Keith,
Thank you, as always, for the kinds words! I guess the nerdiness does come in handy every once in awhile, haha. I am definitely back in the land of the living, but we hit the ground running! Business can be a great thing, but I need to get back to my blog!
Hey Ryan,
You’re back! How was the move? I guess it’s all settle down, that why you had time to blog. Nice shots you got there, what time was it when you tookt he shots? Really nice color of the sky.

Hi Sarah,
Yes indeed, I’m back! The move went well, a lot smoother than we could have hoped for. As for settled down.. Well, I’m not sure if we’ve ever been completely settled. The pictures were taken between 7pm and 8pm I believe. Thank you for the compliments! I love all of the new photographic opportunities out here!
When I moved to my new apt, it did took me about 1 month to settle and get everything I need. So it will take some time

Thanks Martin! I love travelling by train, both short and long distance. I would definitely recommend trying it at least once!
Ryan,
The photo called “Rolling through the Desert at dusk” reminds me of Nevada desserts – the Red Rock Mountains. Have you been there before?
Anyway, what camera did you use to take those wonderful pictures?
Welcome to LA!

Hey Andrew,
Thanks for the welcome! I haven’t been to the Red Rock Mountains. My experience in Nevada has been limited to Las Vegas and the drive between there and LA, haha. The camera I use is an old, beat up Canon Digital Rebel. It’s not the top of the line, but it’s treated me pretty well.
