In the summer of 2011, MOCA Los Angeles hosted an exhibit called Art in the Streets, which featured the works of famed graffiti and street artists. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to check it out, and it didn’t disappoint. Although I was initially worried that it would focus too heavily on street art and not graffiti, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the exhibit. Countless pioneers in the early East Coast and West Coast graffiti scenes were featured, along with some of today’s bigger names.
The lighting inside the exhibit wasn’t always the best for photo opportunities, but I managed to snap a few shots that weren’t too blurry. Regardless of your views on graffiti, you have to admit that there are some talented artists here. Take a look, and let me know what you think. Click the images to enlarge.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the reply! Creativity definitely is huge in the way people view the world.
These are great, some very talented people! I don’t mond graffitti so much, but I can see why many would have a problem with it.
Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Hi Emma,
Thanks for the reply! If you can’t tell, I’m a fan of graffiti art, haha. It was really cool to see it in a gallery setting, and see a lot of the early pioneers of the art form.
